Voices of sanity convene in Glasgow

In recent years, the UK government has committed more and more resources to building omnicide nuclear weapons whilst the country suffers national decline. Out-of-date nuclear submarines and facilities have been causing radiation risks and pollution on Scotland's West Coast.

Meanwhile, the global order of "nuclear deterrence" has utterly failed to ensure international security, and we have come perilously close to nuclear war in recent years.

So-called ‘mainstream’ politicians running the show in Westminster have a vision of nuclear militarism and a war economy which means a dark future of insecurity for Scotland.

In this context, Scottish CND continue their campaigning with renewed urgency. Their conference in Glasgow on Saturday 1^st November draws from across Scottish civil society, politics and campaigning, with expert guests addressing the Economic, Environmental and Security threats posed to Scotland and the world by nuclear weapons.
