DLS expresses our support for two important activities coming up over the coming week – a protest in Aberdeen organised by environmental activists and campaigners in support of Palestinian rights, and the major annual march and rally organised by the STUC against racism and fascism.
Friends of the Earth are joining forces with the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign and other progressive groups and individuals in efforts to expose Dana Petroleum’s complicity in working with the Israeli government to exploit gas in Palestinian waters.
There will be a protest in Aberdeen this week at the company’s HQ - 62 Huntly Street – on Wednesday 26 November, from 12 noon.
The organisers say: ‘Join us in standing up against resource theft and oppression. Stop the pillage. Cut ties with apartheid. Stand with Palestine’.
The STUC’s annual St Andrew’s Day event against racism and fascism will be held in Glasgow on Saturday, 29 November 2025.
The STUC has established an important tradition of highlighting Scotland’s long-standing commitment to inclusivity, solidarity with refugees, and the rejection of far-right ideologies.
The march brings together trade unions, community groups, activists, and individuals from across the country to stand united against racism, discrimination, and xenophobia.Â
The theme of this year’s march and rally is Stand Up, Speak Out: Unite Against Racism!, which shows that despite institutional and everyday challenges, there is enduring strength in solidarity among the anti-racist and anti-fascist movement in Scotland.Â
Those who wish to join should muster at 10:30am at Barrowlands Park (G1 5BG) where the march will begin and proceed to Adelaide Place (209 Bath St, Glasgow G2 4HZ) for an indoor rally at 12pm. Everyone is welcome to join, and you are encouraged to bring your placards and union flags.
