Democratic Left Scotland strongly condemns the actions of the United States in Venezuela.
The Trump administration are motivated by the control of resources not international law, justice or human rights. The Americas are not the property of the United States.
The Starmer Government must act to condemn US aggression. Breaches of international law must be responded to with consistency and integrity.
Solidarity with the people of Venezuela and the region must be an ongoing priority. We must remind ourselves of the history of US imperialism and of appeasement.
